Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive confirmed the pricing structure for Grand Theft Auto VI on June 24, 2026, ahead of pre-orders going live the following day. The Standard Edition carries a $79.99 price tag, making GTA VI one of the first major AAA releases to move past the $70 price point that became standard earlier in the generation.

Why $80?

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had previously signalled that premium pricing was on the table for the studio's biggest releases. The scale of GTA VI's development — spanning multiple years, two playable protagonists, and what Rockstar has described as its most detailed open world — makes it the candidate where the industry expected a price increase to land. Whether other publishers follow suit remains to be seen.

Ultimate Edition Is Digital-Only at $99.99

The Ultimate Edition, priced at $99.99, is only available as a digital purchase. It adds an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, outfits, and access to several in-game vendors not available in the Standard Edition. Rockstar describes the bonus content as being woven throughout Jason and Lucia's story rather than held back as post-launch add-ons.

Physical Copies: Code in a Box

Retail copies of GTA VI will not ship with a Blu-ray disc. Instead, buyers receive a download code inside the packaging. Physical editions begin shipping November 12 — one week before launch — so buyers can pre-load the game and be ready to play at midnight on November 19.
